The British Sports Council recorded increases in strength of as high as 40 to 50
percent in those taking bee pollen regularly. Even more astounding, the British Royal Society has reported height increases in adults who take pollen. Antii Lananaki, coach of the Finnish track team that swept the Olympics in 1972, revealed, "Most of our athletes take pollen food supplements. Our studies show it significantly improves their performance. There have been no negative results since we have been supplying pollen to our athletes."
Alex Woodly, then executive director of the prestigious Education Athletic Club in Philadelphia, said:
"Bee pollen works, and it works perfectly. Pollen allows super-stars to increase their strength and stamina up to 25 percent. This increase in strength and endurance may be the key to the secret regenerative power of bee pollen. Bee pollen causes a definite decrease in pulse rate. The whole beauty of bee pollen is that it's as natural as you can get. No chemicals. No steroids."
Renowned German naturalist Francis Huber was a great proponent of this miraculous food from the hive. Huber called bee pollen "the greatest body builder on Earth."
Fred
Messner of Natures Choice Biodynamic Farms says that bee pollen is a
natural energy supplement. And scientists now know that it's all
thanks to the IRS.
The
IRS, that makes bee pollen a natural energy supplement, is not the
dreaded Internal Revenue Service of the US government but the IRS
that creates bee pollen for energy is the insulin receptor substrate
gene in honeybees that causes them to forage for food that is
naturally high in protein.
Honeybees
forage for pollen preferentially over foraging for nectar. They tend
to bring protein food home to the hive rather than sugar. And some of
the proteins in the bee pollen they collect help protect muscle from
inflammation and prevent inflammation of the muscles from sapping the
energy of the whole body.
Proteins
in bee pollen and propolis stop the action of a compound known as
vascular endothelial growth factor, or VEGF. This growth factor is
the compound that enables cancerous tumors to develop their own blood
supplies and grows unchecked, sapping the nutrients needed by the
rest of the body.
It
is also the compound that causes the twisted and contorted growth of
the blood vessels in the retina at the back of the eye in diabetic
retinopathy. And it's the compound that fills muscle tissue with
fluid after you work out.
Now
if you never leave the sofa except when you need to go the bathroom
or you drop the TV remote, consuming a compound that prevents muscle
inflammation probably is not a big deal. But if you have just started
an exercise program to get back into shape, lose weight, and gain
energy, stopping muscle inflammation so you can get the full benefits
of exercise is extremely important to reaching your goals.
And
that is how bee pollen boosts energy.
But
don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself.
